Haitian Wheat Bread, also known as Pain au Blé Complet, is a staple bread in Haiti that is enjoyed with meals or as a snack. This homemade version uses whole wheat flour, which gives the bread a nutty flavor and makes it healthier than traditional white bread. The bread is soft and slightly chewy on the inside, with a crispy crust on the outside. It's perfect for sandwiches, toast, or to eat by itself with a pat of butter. This recipe takes a little bit of time and patience, but the end result is worth it!

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, combine warm water and brown sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add yeast, stir and let sit for 10 minutes.

3.Add yeast mixture into the flour mixture and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
