Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey breast ( cooked ) or 1 lb lean ground beef ( cooked )
2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
3/4 teaspoon fresh oregano , chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1 garlic clove , minced
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 can diced green chilies
2 -3 tablespoons hot picante sauce
1/2 - 1 cup 2 % cheddar cheese , shredded
1/2 cup low-fat sour cream
1 can fat-free refried beans
Habas Mexicanas, or Mexican Bean Dip, is a popular appetizer in Mexico made with protein-packed meat, refried beans and a variety of spices and seasonings. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2.In a large skillet, cook turkey or beef over medium heat until no longer pink.
3.Add onion flakes, chili powder, crushed red pepper flakes, oregano, salt, cornstarch, garlic, ground cumin and can of diced green chilies. Stir well.
4.Add picante sauce, refried beans and shredded cheese. Stir well.
5.Pour mixture into a 9-inch pie plate.
6.Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes, or until bubbling and cheese is melted and lightly browned.
