1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9-inch (23-cm) cake pan.
2.In a large bowl, mix together the dark raisins, dried cherries, golden raisins, and crystallized ginger.
3.Pour in the Guiness stout and let it soak for at least 10 minutes.
4.In a saucepan, melt the butter and then stir in the brown sugar until smooth.
5.Add the melted butter mixture to the bowl with the soaked fruit and stir well to combine.
6.Add the beaten eggs to the fruit and stir again.
7.In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and cardamom.
8.Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring to combine.
9.Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake for around 70 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
10.Let the cake cool in the pan for around 20 minutes, and then turn it out onto a wire rack to continue cooling.
