Ingredients

2 ounces Amaretto
1 ounce brandy
1/4 lb butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
toasted sliced almonds , for garnish
whipped cream ( I left it off )
4 -5 extra large eggs
1/4 cup heavy cream ( I used half and half )
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
8 slices French bread ( thicker than you would serve for toast )

Instructions

1.In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, vanilla, and cinnamon.
2.Using a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
3.Dip both sides of each slice of bread into the egg mixture, letting excess egg mixture drip away.
4.Place the bread slices into the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
5.Remove from the skillet and place onto a plate.
6.In a small saucepan, combine the Amaretto, brandy, and sugar over medium heat.
7.Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has thickened slightly, about 5 minutes.
8.Drizzle the Amaretto syrup over the French toast and garnish with toasted sliced almonds.
