1 teaspoon salt ( I never add this )
1 can sliced mushrooms
2 medium onions , thinly sliced
1 green pepper , sliced in thin strips
6 scallions , cut in 1 inch pieces
1 cup thinly sliced celery
1 can water chestnuts , thinly sliced and drained
1 can bamboo shoots , drained
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 1/2 cups rice , cooked

Instructions

1.In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.
2.Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
3.In a small bowl, mix together sugar, soy sauce, A.1. Original Sauce, and salt (if desired) until fully combined.
4.Add the sliced onions and green pepper to the pan with the ground beef, stirring to combine.
5.Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly.
6.Stir in the sliced mushrooms, scallions, celery, water chestnuts, and bamboo shoots, distributing everything evenly throughout the skillet.
7.Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
8.In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water.
9.Uncover the skillet and stir in the cornstarch mixture until the sauce thickens.
10.Serve the beef sukiyaki over cooked rice.
