Ingredients

2 slices deli style ham ( the long ones work well )
1 slice swiss cheese
2 slices bread
1/3 cup onion , chopped
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon oil
1 lettuce leaf
2 slices tomatoes
3 slices pickles
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon mustard
salt and pepper

Instructions

1.For the grilled onions, melt butter ( or oil ) in a pan over medium heat.

3.Season with salt and pepper, and set aside.
4.Lay down a slice of bread and layer with cheese, ham, grilled onions, then another slice of bread.
5.Butter the bread on both sides.
6.Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and place the sandwich on it.
7.Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
8.Mix mayonnaise and mustard to make a sauce, then spread it on top of the lettuce leaf and add to the top of sandwich along with the tomatoes and pickles.
9.Cut into halves or quarters, and serve.
