Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs flank steaks
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon allspice

1/2 cup dry red wine
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
1 large onion , thinly slivered
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/3 cup feta cheese , crumbled
chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.

4.Add the steaks and brown on both sides until caramelized, about 5 minutes per side.
5.Remove the steaks from the pan and set aside.
6.Add the onion and garlic to the same pan and sauté until onions are soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
7.Stir in the tomato paste, brown sugar, cinnamon, and oregano and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
8.Add the red wine and red wine vinegar to the pan and bring to a simmer, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
9.Return the flank steaks to the pan and cover with the onion mixture.
10.Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and transfer to the preheated oven.
11.Bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the meat is fork-tender.
12.Remove the pot from the oven and let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing it into strips.
13.Place the sliced steak in a serving dish and top with the crumbled feta cheese and chopped parsley.
