Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.

6.To prepare the yogurt sauce, combine the yogurt, cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
7.To assemble gyros, heat a large skillet over high heat. Brush the pitas with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Cook the pitas until golden brown, about 30 seconds per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
8.In the same skillet, heat the remaining olive oil over high heat. Add the sliced meat mixture and cook until brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
9.To prepare the gyro sandwiches, top each pita bread with sliced tomatoes, sweet onions, and the browned meat mixture. Drizzle with yogurt sauce.
