Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pans with butter.

3.In another medium bowl, whisk together ketchup, water, and food coloring.
4.In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, then stir in ketchup mixture.
5.Gradually add in flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
6.Divide batter evenly between prepared cake pans.
7.Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
8.In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually beat in icing sugar until frosting is smooth and creamy.
9.Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top of cake layer. Top with remaining cake layer, and spread a layer of frosting on top and sides of cake.
