Ingredients

1 1/4 lbs ground round ( or ground lamb )
3/4 cup long grain rice ( cooked )
1 small onion ( chopped fine )
2 garlic cloves ( crushed or minced )
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1 jar pickled grape leaves , in brine , well rinsed and drained , stems cut off
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together the ground round, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and ground cumin until well combined.

3.Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling, and then roll the leaf tightly to create a cylinder.
4.Repeat with remaining grape leaves and meat mixture.
5.In a large pot, heat the olive oil and lemon juice over medium heat.
6.Add the stuffed grape leaves to the pot, arranging them in a single layer.
7.Add enough water to cover the grape leaves.
8.Cover the pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.
9.Take off heat and let cool, then serve.
