2 cups white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup

1/4 cup water
salt to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar ( optional )
5 quarts popped popcorn

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C)
2.In a large saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, water, salt, and vinegar over medium heat. Cook and stir until mixture reaches the hard ball stage (in the candy making world).
3.Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
4.Pour mixture over popcorn, stirring to coat completely.
5.Grease your hands and form popcorn mixture into balls. You can make them any size you desire but we recommend a size of about 2 inches in diameter.
6.Place balls of popcorn on a greased cookie sheet and then bake them in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. This really helps firm up the popcorn balls.
7.Cool completely and enjoy!
