Grand Marnier Nanaimo Bars are a variation of traditional Canadian Nanaimo Bars. The dessert is said to have originated from Nanaimo, a city on Vancouver Island in Canada. The classic Nanaimo Bars consists of three layers – a wafer and nut base, vanilla custard filling layer, and chocolate topping layer. Grand Marnier Nanaimo Bars replace the vanilla custard layer with a Grand Marnier flavored icing layer. The orange liqueur enhances the flavor of the topping, making it a more sophisticated dessert that will leave your guests impressed.
