Instructions

.Cook rice according to package directions.
.In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, ground pork, garlic salt, salt, pepper, and chopped onion. Mix well.
.Preheat oven to 350°F.
.Cut the core out of the head of cabbage, leaving the head intact. Place the cabbage in a pot and fill with enough water to cover the cabbage. Bring the water to a boil and cook the cabbage for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until the outer leaves start to loosen. Remove the cabbage from the pot and carefully separate the leaves, keeping them intact. Reserve 8 to 10 of the largest leaves.
.Take small handfuls of the pork-rice mixture and place into each cabbage leaf. Roll up the cabbage leaf to enclose the filling and place seam-side down in a baking dish.
.Once all the cabbage rolls are in the baking dish, pour the sauerkraut over the top of them.
.Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 1 1/2 hours. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the cabbage rolls are browned and the internal temperature registers 160°F on a meat thermometer.
