The recipe uses a combination of pork sausage and ground beef, which adds a depth of flavor and richness to the dish. The layers of ricotta and Parmesan cheese give the lasagna a creamy texture, while the tomato-based sauce provides a tangy and sweet flavor. This hearty and filling dish is best served with fresh salad and garlic bread. Enjoy it with family and friends on a cold winter evening or any time you crave comfort food.

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through but firm to the bite, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain.
3.Cook and stir pork sausage and ground beef together in a large saucepan over medium heat until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add onion and garlic; cook until onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes more. Drain excess grease.
4.Add tomato basil pasta sauce, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes to the saucepan. Stir in 1/2 cup parsley, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
5.Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Spread 1/2 cup sauce over the bottom. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta cheese, 1/3 of the remaining sauce, 1/3 of the Parmesan cheese, and 1/4 of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers twice more, ending with remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
6.Cover dish with aluminum foil.
7.Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake until cheese is browned and bubbly, 25 to 30 minutes more.
