Ingredients

1 medium onion
2 lbs clams ( small hard shell clams such as littlenecks )
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon fresh gingerroot , peeled and grated
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons cilantro , chopped
4 tablespoons grated fresh coconut or 2 tablespoons dried unsweetened coconut
Goan Curried Clams are a popular seafood dish originating from Goa, a coastal state in Western India. Instructions

1.Rinse the clams and set aside.
2.Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and gingerroot, cooking until translucent (about 5 minutes).
3.Stir in paprika, coriander powder, cumin, cayenne, and salt and cook for another minute.
4.Add the clams and coconut milk, stirring gently to coat.
5.Cover and cook until the clams open, discard any that do not open.
6.Mix in lime juice, cilantro, and grated coconut.
7.Serve hot and enjoy!
