Ingredients

1 -2 lb fresh whole roasted green chili pepper
1 -2 lb bulk Italian sausage ( your choice of mild or hot )
24 -32 ounces your favorite italian marinara sauce , one made with red wine is always better ( enough to cover )
1 lb fresh mozzarella cheese , grated

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 375F (190C)
2.Remove the stems, seeds, and inner membranes from the green chiles and then rinse them thoroughly.
3.Cook the bulk Italian sausage over medium heat in a large frying pan, stirring continuously until it is completely browned.
4.Add 2 cups of your favorite Italian marinara sauce to the frying pan and continue to cook the mixture for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
5.Stuff the green chiles with the Italian sausage and marinara sauce mixture and place them in a baking dish.
6.Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top of the stuffed green chiles and then cover the dish with foil.
7.Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
8.Remove the foil from the dish and then sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese over the top of the green chiles.
9.Return the dish to the oven and continue to bake it for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
