Gingerbread muffins are a variation of traditional gingerbread, which is a classic holiday treat in many countries around the world. The warm spices, such as ginger, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, give it a distinct sweet and spicy flavor. In fact, gingerbread was originally baked with ginger as a digestive aid, making it perfect for the holiday season when rich meals are often consumed. These muffins are gluten-free and have a lower sugar content than traditional gingerbread, making them a healthier option. They are perfect for a cozy winter day with a cup of tea or coffee.
