Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 425°F.
2.Remove the turkey giblets.
3.Rinse the turkey under cold running water and pat it dry with paper towels.
4.Rub softened butter all over the turkey, including under the skin of the breasts and thighs.
5.Season the turkey with salt and pepper.
6.Place the onion, thyme sprig, rosemary sprig, and lemon quarters inside the turkey cavity.
7.Truss the turkey using cooking string or kitchen twine.

14.Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
