Ingredients

4 ounces good-quality milk chocolate , chopped ( try Scharffen Berger , Lindt , Ghirardelli )
1 cup nutella ( chocolate-hazelnut spread )
6 tablespoons hazelnuts , toasted and coarsely chopped
18 ounces bittersweet chocolate or 18 ounces semisweet chocolate , chopped
32 whole hazelnuts , blanched , husked and then toasted
Gianduia is an Italian variation of chocolate-hazelnut spread that was invented in Turin, Italy in the 19th century. This recipe combines Gianduia with milk chocolate and hazelnuts to create rich and creamy candy cups that are perfect for any chocolate lover. The candy cups are made by taking dollops of the chocolate-hazelnut mixture and topping them with a whole hazelnut before they are coated in melted dark chocolate. Instructions

1.Line 32 miniature muffin cups with paper liners.
2.Place the milk chocolate in a small heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Melt the chocolate, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
3.Remove from heat and stir in the Nutella and chopped hazelnuts.
4.Spoon teaspoon-sized dollops of the chocolate-hazelnut mixture into the muffin cups and top each one with a whole hazelnut.
5.Place the bittersweet chocolate in a large heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Melt the chocolate, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
6.Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
7.Spoon a teaspoon of melted chocolate onto each of the hazelnuts in the muffin cups.
8.Chill the candy cups in the refrigerator until set, about 10-15 minutes.
9.Once the candy cups have hardened, remove them from the muffin cups and peel away the paper liners.
