4 slices bacon , thick sliced
1 1/4 lbs ground chuck
1/4 cup onion , minced
1/4 cup fresh parsley , minced

1 bottle dark beer or 1 1/2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup beef broth
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
1/2 teaspoon garlic , minced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

1.In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet and set aside on a paper towel.
2.In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, minced onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix together well and shape into 4 oval patties.
3.Using the same skillet, cook the patties over medium heat until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
4.Add the sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until lightly browned. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir for a minute.
5.Slowly add the dark beer or beef broth, beef broth, sugar, tomato paste, caraway seed, garlic, salt, and the cooked bacon to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
6.Add the patties back to the skillet and adjust the heat to maintain a simmer. Cover the skillet and cook for 25 minutes or until cooked through.
