3 lbs beef round steak
all-purpose flour
salt and pepper
1 large onion , diced
6 slices bacon
vegetable oil
3/4 cup dry red wine
water

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Cut beef round steak into thin slices, pound the slices with a meat mallet and season each with salt and pepper.

4.Dredge beef rolls in flour.
5.Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat and brown rouladens on all sides.
6.Pour in red wine and enough water to cover the rouladens.
7.Cover the Dutch oven and bake at 350°F for an hour and a half.
8.Remove rouladens and keep warm.
9.Thicken the sauce with additional flour if needed and serve over the rouladens.
