Instructions

.Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
.Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Add the cored cabbage heads into the pot and blanch them for 2-3 minutes. Once the leaves have slightly softened, remove the cabbage from the pot and set them aside to cool.
.In a large saucepan, bring the apple cider vinegar and water to a boil. Add the rice to the pot, stir it well, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until tender. Once done, remove the rice from the heat, cover it, and set it aside.
.In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, pork sausage, diced onion, salt, garlic salt, and black pepper. Mix the ingredients well until combined and set aside.
.Once the cabbage is cool enough to handle, gently remove 12-16 of the largest leaves and fill each one with a generous amount of the meat mixture. Roll the leaves tightly, tucking the sides inward, then place them, seam side down, in a large baking dish.
.Using a food processor or blender, puree the sauerkraut and spread it over the top of the stuffed cabbage rolls.
.Cover the dish with foil and bake it in the preheated oven for 2-2 1/2 hours, or until the meat is fully cooked.
.Serve the hot dish with your favorite sauce or gravy and enjoy!
