Ingredients

4 slices bread ( I used 9-grain but i bet french or challah is yummier )
3 eggs
1/4 cup skim milk
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
4 ounces fat free cream cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon ( or to taste )

1/2 tablespoon ginger ( optional )
1/4 cup pecans , see note ( optional )

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square baking dish.
2.Cut bread into cubes and place evenly in the baking dish.
3.Combine the eggs, milk, and 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon, and mix well. Pour over bread cubes and press down to soak.
4.In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sugar, and 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon (or to taste) until smooth. Spread cream cheese mixture over the bread cubes.
5.Top with fresh or frozen fruit and ginger (if using) and sprinkle with pecans (if using).
6.Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
