The dish has become a staple comfort food for many people thanks to its rich flavor and affordability. It's perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or any time when you need a warm and filling meal.

Instructions

1.Fill a large pot with heavily salted water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Add egg noodles and cook according to package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining the noodles completely.
2.While the egg noodles cook, melt butter in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook for 2 minutes or until softened. Add chopped cabbage, caraway seed, salt, and pepper. Cook until cabbage is wilted and translucent, about 10 minutes.
3.Add the boiled egg noodles to the cabbage mixture, stirring to combine everything. If needed, add 1/4 cup of reserved pasta water to help loosen the noodles. Turn off the heat and add sour cream if using. Stir to combine.
4.Serve hot and enjoy!
