1 egg , beaten
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

1.Dry-roast the fennel and coriander seeds in a small frying pan over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until fragrant. Use a mortar and pestle, spice grinder or blender to grind the seeds to a powder.
2.Mix the beef, lamb, breadcrumbs, bouillon, onion, garlic, ground cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, allspice, balsamic vinegar, and the ground fennel and coriander seeds with your hands until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
3.Add the beaten egg and mix well.
4.Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
5.Using a lightly oiled tablespoon, scoop up small portions of the mixture and shape into small balls.
6.Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan and cook meatballs for approximately 4 minutes per side, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
7.Serve hot with a green salad, or in a roll with your favorite condiments.
