1 1/2 ( .25 ounce ) envelopes active dry yeast
3 cups water

Instructions

1.In a medium pan, combine water, sugar, and lemon juice.

4.In another bowl, mix flour and yeast. Add water and stir until smooth.

8.Pinch the edges to seal the dough and make half-moon shapes.
9.Heat the oil in a deep frying pan at medium-high heat.
10.Fry the katayef in batches until golden brown, turning once.
11.Drain the katayef on a plate lined with paper towels.
12.Dip the katayef in the sugar syrup, or pour syrup on top. Serve hot or cold.
