Fried chicken is a classic Southern comfort food. This particular recipe was passed down from my dad, Jos Rodrigue, and has been a family favorite for generations. The unique crust made with saltine crackers gives it a satisfying crunch, while the spices used add depth of flavor. This recipe is perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon or a special occasion. Serve it up with your favorite side dishes, like mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread, and enjoy!

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
2.Rinse chicken pieces well and pat dry.
3.In a large bowl, combine the crushed soda crackers, flour, black pepper, garlic powder, savory, and barbecue seasoning.
4.In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs and some milk.
5.Dip each chicken piece in the egg mixture, then coat with the cracker/flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breading.
6.Place the chicken pieces on a large baking sheet and bake for 40-50 minutes, until golden brown.
7.Serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
