1 cup white sugar
1 cup whole milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 eggs
3 egg yolks
1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup heavy cream
Flan Mexicano, also known as Mexican Flan, is a traditional dessert served in Mexico and other Latin American countries. It is similar to crème caramel or custard, but with a unique twist of orange flavor. The flan is made by melting sugar in a saucepan and pouring it into a cake pan, then adding a mixture of whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, egg yolks, orange juice, orange peel, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and heavy cream over the top. The cake pan is placed in a water bath and then baked. Once cooled, it is inverted onto a plate and served chilled. This indulgent dessert is perfect for dinner parties, holiday celebrations, or whenever you're in the mood for something sweet and creamy.

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2.Melt the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
3.Pour the melted sugar into a 9-inch round cake pan.
4.In a blender, mix the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, egg yolks, orange juice, orange peel, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and heavy cream until well combined.
5.Pour the mixture over the melted sugar in the cake pan.
6.Place the pan in a larger baking dish and add hot water to the larger dish until it reaches halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
7.Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8.Remove from oven and allow to cool in the water bath for 10 minutes.
9.Remove from water bath and let cool to room temperature.
10.Chill for at least two hours in the refrigerator.
11.To serve, run a knife around the edge of the cooled flan and invert onto a plate.
