Ingredients

4 eggs
5 egg yolks
1 cup white sugar
3 cups heavy cream
1 cup half-and-half cream
1 vanilla bean , split and scraped
1 orange peel
1/2 fluid ounce orange liqueur
Flan III is a popular dessert from Spain and Latin America that has gained popularity all around the globe. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until light.
3.Stir in heavy cream and half-and-half, then mix in the scraped vanilla bean and orange peel.
4.Add the orange liqueur and beat until well combined.
5.Pour mixture into a 9-inch round baking dish.
6.Create a water bath by placing the filled baking dish into a larger baking dish filled halfway with water.
7.Bake until the custard is set, about 50 minutes.
8.Remove the baking dish from the water bath and let cool on the counter.
9.When the Flan III reaches room temperature, transfer the dish to the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.
