Ingredients

1 large head cabbage
2 -3 tablespoons butter
1 -2 tablespoon golden syrup
4 tablespoons rice
1 cup beef broth
10 ounces ground lamb
1/3 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 egg yolk ( reserve egg white for sealing )
salt & pepper
1 -2 tablespoon heavy cream
Finnish Stuffed Cabbage Rolls or Kaalikääryleet is a traditional Finnish dish and commonly served as the main course. It consists of soft and tasty cabbage leaves stuffed with ground lamb, rice, and creamy sauce. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2.Place the whole cabbage head in boiling water for about 5 to 8 minutes or until the outer leaves have softened.
3.Remove from the water and take off 8-10 outer leaves and set them aside.
4.In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the golden syrup, rice, and beef broth. Cook until rice is soft and the mixture has thickened.
5.In a bowl, mix the ground lamb, heavy cream, shredded cabbage, and egg yolk. Add salt and pepper to taste.
6.Divide the meat mixture into 8-10 portions and roll them up tightly in the cabbage leaves.
7.Use egg whites to seal the rolls.
8.Place cabbage rolls in a baking dish.
9.Pour the sauce over the cabbage rolls and bake uncovered for about 45 to 50 minutes.
