The recipe includes the use of yeast and requires two rounds of rising, which results in a fluffy, airy texture. The glaze adds a touch of sweetness to the bread, making it a real treat for anyone who enjoys the taste of cardamom.

Instructions

.In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, margarine, white sugar, and salt. Heat stirring occasionally until the mixture is warm, and the margarine is melted.
.In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water, let it stand for about 5 minutes until frothy.
.In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and cardamom. Gradually mix in the warm milk mixture. Add the yeast and stir in enough flour to make a soft dough.
.Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease two baking sheets.
.Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and punch down. Divide in half. Roll each half into 3 ropes, and braid each set of 3. Place each braid onto a greased baking sheet. Let it rise in a warm place for 20 to 30 minutes.
.Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until browned.
.To make glaze, mix butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a small bowl, and brush over warm bread.
