Feijoada is a traditional stew from Brazil that has been made for hundreds of years. While feijoada typically includes a variety of meats, including pork and beef, this version is made specifically with beans, beef chuck, bacon, sausage, and black bean soup. It's a popular dish in the Richmond area of Virginia, where it's a favorite during the winter months. The thick and hearty stew is full of savory flavor, and the combination of beans and meats creates a unique and satisfying texture.

Instructions

1.Rinse and soak black beans for 6-8 hours in plenty of water or overnight, and cook until soft in enough water to cover the beans, along with the soup bone. Depending on the type of bean and the method or appliance used, cooking time can take between 30-90 minutes.
2.In a frying pan, brown the chorizo sausage or kielbasa, bacon, and beef on medium heat.
3.Add onion and garlic to the frying pan and sauté until soft.
4.Add canned tomatoes, black bean soup, salt, and pepper to the pan and cook for 20 minutes on medium heat.
5.Combine the cooked beans and the meat and vegetables from the frying pan into a large pot.
