1 tablespoon rum
1 pinch salt
2 cups vegetable oil for frying
1/2 cup confectioners ' sugar , or as needed
Faworki, also known as Polish Chrusciki, is a traditional Polish pastry that's often served during the Carnival season or Christmas time. Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, egg yolks, sour cream, white sugar, butter, rum, and salt until it forms a smooth dough.
2.Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it's about 1/8-inch thick. Cut the dough into thin strips about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide, and cut a small slit in the middle of each strip.
3.Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until hot. To check if it's hot enough, drop a small piece of dough in the oil. If it bubbles and sizzles, it's ready.
4.Fry the strips in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
5.Dust the fried strips with confectioners' sugar and serve.
