1 can fava beans or 2 cups young fresh fava beans , out-of-the pod and steamed

1 head romaine lettuce , finely chopped
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons dried sweet basil leaves
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 cup flat leaf parsley , finely chopped
coarse-ground black pepper

Instructions
