2 -3 teaspoons cognac
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 1/2 cups flour , plus additional flour for working
1 teaspoon cardamom
vegetable oil ( for frying )

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, salt, and cognac until well combined.

4.Knead the dough on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
5.Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
6.Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot until it reaches 350°F.
7.Roll the dough out to a thickness of 1/8 inch, then cut it into diamond shapes.
8.Fry the diamond shapes in the hot oil, turning occasionally until they become golden brown for about 2 minutes.
9.Remove them from the pot using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain.
10.Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
