Ingredients

1/2 cup dried fava beans
1/2 cup chickpeas
1/2 cup onion , peeled , washed and coarsely chopped
1 garlic clove
1/2 cup fresh parsley , washed and finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/8 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup dry roasted pine nuts
salt
fresh ground black pepper
oil , to deep fry
4 -5 pita bread ( pronounced as `` khaboos '' in Hindi )
1 onion , thinly sliced
1/2 cup tahini sauce
lettuce leaf , as required
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup tahini ( sesame paste )
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
salt

Instructions

1.Soak the dried fava beans and chickpeas overnight, washing them off in the morning.

3.Drain and combine the dried beans with the processed mixture, adding cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, baking soda, salt, and black pepper.
4.Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
5.Roll the mixture into small balls, about the size of a walnut.
6.Deep fry for 2-3 minutes in hot oil until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
7.Slice onions and chop lettuce leaves. Serve falafels in pita breads with tahini sauce, onions, lettuce, and garlic.
8.To make the tahini sauce, mix tahini paste, water, lemon juice, and salt until smooth.
