1/2 cup warm water | |
2 cups water | |
6 cups bread flour | |
1 tablespoon salt | |
1 tablespoon white sugar | |
5 tablespoons vegetable oil | |
2 tablespoons cornmeal | |
1 egg white , beaten | |
1 tablespoon sesame seeds |
1. | In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water |
2. | In a large bowl, mix 2 cups water, bread flour, salt, sugar and vegetable oil |
3. | Add yeast mixture to bowl and mix until smooth |
4. | Knead dough until smooth and elastic |
5. | Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth |
6. | Let dough rise until doubled |
7. | Divide dough into 2 pieces and form into loaves |
8. | Sprinkle cornmeal on baking sheet and place loaves on top |
9. | Brush loaves with beaten egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds |
10. | Bake at 375°F for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown |
