Ingredients

6 cumberland sausages
2 onions , chopped
16 ounces butter beans ( I used tinned )
16 ounces baked beans ( tinned )
1/2 of chopped garlic clove ( my mum said half but I like to use a whole clove )
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
0.5 can cider
12 slices bacon
2 pints chicken stock
16 ounces of tinned chopped tomatoes
English Sausage and Bean Casserole is a classic dish that houses both beans and sausages. It has an excellent taste and can be your real comfort food. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C.
2.Slowly brown the Cumberland sausages in a pan. Set the sausages aside and reserve the fat.
3.In the same pan, fry the bacon in the reserved fat until crispy. Set the bacon aside.
4.Using the same pan, sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
5.Deglaze the pan with cider and add the Worcestershire sauce and chicken stock. Bring it to boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
6.Add the canned tomatoes, butter beans and baked beans to the pan and put in the sausages and bacon.
7.Transfer the pan to the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

PROS

It is a one-pot dish, making it easy to prepare and clean up after.

The combination of beans, sausages and bacon is rich in protein and mightage hunger for longer periods.

CONS

This dish can have a high salt content, particularly due to the bacon.

It may excessively trigger gastroesophageal reflux.
