Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking soda
1 -2 teaspoon vanilla essence ( to suit your taste )
1 pinch salt
1/2 - 1 cup white chocolate chips ( or a mixture of both , to taste ) ( optional ) or 1/2-1 cup dark chocolate chips ( or a mixture of both , to taste ) ( optional )
1/2 - 1 cup nuts ( any kind or mix , to taste ) ( optional )

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 180°C (360°F) and grease a 26 cm (10 inch) cake tin with butter or cooking spray.
2.Sift the flour and cocoa powder together in a bowl and set aside.
3.In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the melted butter, oil, vanilla essence, and malt vinegar, and mix until well combined.
4.In a small bowl, mix baking soda and milk, then add to the egg mixture. Mix until smooth.
5.Add the pinch of salt to the flour mixture and gradually add it into the egg mixture, stirring gently until smooth.
6.Add chocolate chips and nuts (if using), and fold them into the batter. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin.
7.Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Let it cool in the tin for 10 minutes before removing it from the tin to cool completely on a wire rack.
