6 slices bacon , cooked and crumbled

Instructions

1.Heat the butter in a large soup pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

10.Reheat the soup over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cheese has melted.
11.Ladle the soup into bowls and serve with crumbled bacon and additional thyme, if desired.
