Swedish meatballs are a classic dish, often enjoyed with lingonberry jam and mashed potatoes. This lighter version of the recipe still has all the traditional flavors but with fewer calories and less fat. The combination of turkey and extra lean beef ensures that the meatballs are still juicy and flavorful, while the low sodium soy sauce adds a savory umami flavor. The cardamom, nutmeg, and allspice in the creamy sauce give the dish a warm and comforting flavor that is perfect for a cozy and satisfying dinner.

Instructions

2.In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, extra lean ground beef, white pepper, low sodium soy sauce, and finely chopped onions until well combined.
3.In a separate bowl, mix together the margarine, fresh breadcrumbs, fat-free half-and-half, and egg substitute until combined. Add this to the turkey and beef mixture and stir well.
4.Roll the meat mixture into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
