Ingredients

3 cups dried broad beans ( baqueella )
1 cup sunflower seeds
4 tablespoons lemon juice
4 garlic cloves , crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
5 cups water

Instructions

1.Sort and rinse the baqueella and sunflower seeds. Soak the baqueella in water overnight, keep the water.
2.On medium-high heat, cook the baqueella with water from the soaking and with additional 5 cups of water until it gets soft, it may take 1-2 hours, add water if needed.
3.Rinse the sunflower seeds with cold water to remove any dirt.
4.In a blender, blend the sunflower seeds until smooth.
5.Add crushed garlic and salt, blend again until mixed.
6.Add the cooked baqueella to the blender, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 4 tablespoons of lemon juice, blend the mixture until smooth.
7.Taste and add more salt or lemon if needed.
8.Serve cold with a piece of flatbread or pita.
