Belila is a traditional Egyptian breakfast dish made with whole wheat berries. It's a nutritious and filling meal that's perfect for a chilly morning. The preparation process is similar to that of a porridge, but the wheat berries give it a chewy texture and nutty flavor. Belila can be enjoyed plain, but it's also delicious topped with hot milk, toasted almonds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Instructions

1.In a large pot, add 4 cups of water and the wheat berries. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about an hour or until the wheat is tender and the water has been absorbed.
2.Add the remaining 2 cups of water to the pot and stir well. Cook for another 10 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
3.Add the hot milk and stir well. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat.
4.Serve hot, topped with almonds and cinnamon, if desired.
