German Potato Salad is a traditional dish that originated in Southern Germany. It differs from American potato salad in that it’s served warm and has a tangy dressing made with cider vinegar and olive oil instead of mayonnaise. German immigrants brought potato salad to America and it has since become a staple at summer barbecues and picnics. This recipe features red onions for extra flavor and dill weed for a fresh, herbaceous taste. Serve this classic German dish alongside grilled bratwurst or hamburgers for a perfect summer meal.

3.Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
4.Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix together the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cider vinegar.
5.Add the chopped red onion and olive oil to the bowl and mix well.
