Ingredients

1 cup condensed milk
5 egg yolks
1/2 cup mashed potatoes
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Instructions

1.Combine the condensed milk, egg yolks, mashed potatoes, and vanilla in a mixing bowl.
2.Mix well until all ingredients are well-combined.
3.Heat a nonstick skillet and put butter in it.
4.Pour the mixture and cook over low heat, continuously stirring until it thickens. This should take about 25 minutes.
5.Let it cool down and mold yema to small balls.
6.In a separate saucepan, combine the sugar, water and cream of tartar.
7.Cook over medium heat until it reaches the soft ball stage.
8.Put yema balls in the saucepan with the sugar syrup and coat completely.
9.Serve as a dessert or snack.
