Ingredients

1 sheet shortcrust pastry
6 -8 tablespoons mincemeat ( approx )
1 teaspoon sugar ( approx )
Mince pies are a traditional British dessert mostly consumed during Christmas time. The mincemeat filling is a combination of dried fruits, nuts, spices and sugar. Despite the name, there's no meat involved in the filling. These Easiest Mince Pies are perfect for those lacking in time or culinary skills, but still want to enjoy the classic dessert on Christmas day.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6
2.Roll out the pastry and cut out 12 circles
3.Place the circles into a muffin tray
4.Add ½ tablespoon of mincemeat into each circle
5.Sprinkle sugar on top
6.Cut star shapes from pastry scraps and place them on top of the mincemeat
7.Bake for around 15 minutes until golden brown

These mince pies are easy and quick to make, perfect if you don’t have a lot of time.

They are also delicious and a must-have dessert on Christmas day.

CONS

Mincemeat is high in sugar and calories, so these pies should be consumed in moderation.

Also, be careful when eating them as the filling can be quite hot.
