Ingredients

1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 cup light cream
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 1 ounce Amaretto or 1 ounce Frangelico
5 earl grey tea bags or 5 earl grey loose tea
4 teaspoons gelatin powder ( for panna cotta ) or 2 large eggs
The Earl Grey - Walnut Panna Cotta or Creme Anglaise is an elegant and creamy dessert that combines the floral aroma of earl grey tea with rich, silky cream. The tea flavor pairs perfectly with the nuttiness of the walnut topping in the panna cotta. It's a satisfying and indulgent dessert that is perfect for any special occasion or for a treat at the end of a long day.

Instructions

1.For Earl Grey - Walnut Panna Cotta:
2.In a saucepan, combine milk, light cream, and sweetened condensed milk over medium heat. Add the Amaretto or Frangelico and earl grey tea bags and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and let steep for 5 minutes.
3.Remove the tea bags and stir in the gelatin powder until dissolved.
4.Pour the mixture into ramekins or glasses and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until set.
5.To make the walnut topping, stir together chopped walnuts and honey, and sprinkle over the panna cotta before serving.
6.For Creme Anglaise:
7.In a saucepan, combine milk and heavy cream and heat until simmering.
8.In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale.
9.Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
10.Return the mixture into the saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
11.Remove from heat and strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

PROS

Earl Grey – Walnut Panna Cotta or Creme Anglaise is a great dessert or as an accompaniment to tea or coffee.

Both can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for convenience.

CONS

This dessert is relatively high in calories and sugar, so should be consumed in moderation.

It’s also important to take care when preparing the gelatin as over-boiling may cause the dessert not to set.
