Ingredients

1 kg small stewing pear
3 cloves
1 piece fresh lemon rind
2 cinnamon sticks
50 g brown sugar
200 ml red wine
100 ml black currant liqueur

Instructions

1.Rinse the pears well and remove any stems from the crown, but keep the peel on.
2.Put the pears in a stewing pan and add 3 cloves, fresh lemon rind, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 50g of brown sugar and stir well.
3.Add 200 ml of red wine and 100 ml of black currant liqueur to the pan and stir well.
4.Bring the ingredients to a boil and then let the pears simmer on low heat for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the pears are soft and tender, and the liquid has thickened into a syrup consistency.
5.Remove the pears from the pan and let them cool before serving. Spoon the remaining thickened liquid over the pears.
