Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 325°F.
2.Cook bacon in a Dutch oven over medium heat until crispy, remove and crumble.
3.Add chopped onions and garlic to the Dutch oven, cook and stir until the onions are soft and tender.
4.Toss the cubed round steak to coat with the flour, salt, and pepper.
5.Add 2 tablespoons vegetable oil to the Dutch oven and brown the steak on all sides, in batches if needed.
6.Add the crumbled bacon, 1 cup white wine, 2 cups beef stock, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 3 bay leaves, and sliced mushrooms to the Dutch oven.
7.Stir everything together and bring to a simmer.
8.Cover the Dutch oven and transfer it to the oven, bake until the beef is tender, about 2 to 2.5 hours.
