Dutch Baby Bunnies are a sweet and savory breakfast dish that originated in the United States in the early 1900s. Similar in texture to a popover or Yorkshire pudding, Dutch Baby Bunnies are typically made from a batter of flour, eggs, milk, and sugar that is baked in a hot skillet until puffed and golden-brown. Traditionally served with syrup, butter, and powdered sugar, Dutch Baby Bunnies can also be topped with a variety of sweet and savory ingredients, such as berries, whipped cream, bacon, or cheese, to suit individual tastes and preferences.

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 425°F.
2.In a 10-inch oven safe skillet cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, remove from pan and set aside.
3.In a medium bowl, whisk flour, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt and eggs together until well combined.
4.Add butter to skillet used for bacon, place skillet in preheated oven and let butter melt.
5.Remove skillet from oven and pour batter into skillet.
6.Return skillet to oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until puffed and golden-brown.
7.Remove skillet from oven, garnish with bacon, course salt and syrup, serve warm.

PROS

Dutch Baby Bunnies are easy and quick to make, and the puffed and golden-brown texture makes them a great addition to any brunch table.
They can also be customized with different toppings to suit personal preferences.

CONS

As with most breakfast treats, Dutch Baby Bunnies can be high in calories and are not ideal for those on a strict diet.
Additionally, the high sodium content from bacon and salt can be a concern for some people with health issues.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

While not a particularly healthy food, Dutch Baby Bunnies can still be enjoyed in moderation as an occasional breakfast or brunch treat. The eggs in the batter are a good source of protein, and the use of coarse salt can reduce the overall sodium content of the dish.
